The WillPower Fund at MCS
It’s Official!
As of October 1, 2025 the WillPower Foundation has officially become The WillPower Fund at Multicultural Community Services (MCS).
Since 2008, WillPower has awarded nearly half a million dollars in direct grants to families and individuals with different abilities in Western Massachusetts. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we’ve arrived at an exciting new chapter in our journey. Our partnership with MCS creates a sustainable way to grow our mission and ensure that more of every donation goes directly to families in need.
What does this mean for you?
· Families can still apply for grants of up to $750 each year through our simple, low-barrier process. Apply now for our October 31 grants cycle here.
· Donors can still support us through online gifts, our Power Partner Club (more info coming soon!), and annual events. Volunteers will continue to play a vital role in fundraising. Stay tuned for updates from our fund- and friend-raising group, Friends of WillPower, for more ways you can stay involved and support!
· Most importantly, our mission remains unchanged: empowering families when insurance and other resources fall short.
With MCS’s infrastructure and shared values, the WillPower Fund is positioned to create even greater impact—for generations to come.

History of WillPower
The WillPower Foundation was founded in 2008 by Maria and Craig Burke of Holyoke in honor of their son, William Michael Burke. Will was born with a rare condition called schizencephaly, which limits his mobility but never his spirit. Inspired by his determination to live a full life, the foundation has stayed true to its mission of saying yes when insurance says no. Since its founding, WillPower has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants to families and individuals with different abilities living in Western Massachusetts.
